30th Anniversary Concert – free entry to all
This year Abbey Brass celebrates its 30th Anniversary. As part of the celebrations, the band is putting on an anniversary concert at the Amey Theatre on Sat 3rd November. Doors open at 7.00 pm. Abbey Brass is making this a free concert, to show appreciation for all the support given by its audience over the years. All band members hope to welcome as many people as possible to join them for their special evening.
Abbey Brass is also in the process of bringing out a new CD. It is some time since the last CD, Celebration, was released. The band thought that a new recording would help mark this special year. As yet the CD is untitled, and no details of track listing can be released. It is hoped that the CD will be ready for sale at the Anniversary Concert on 3rd November.
Training Band to Contest again
The Abbey Brass training band are rehearsing for the Oxford and District Brass Band Association Entertainment contest, to be held in October. The group’s entry in last years contest marked its competition debut, and the band played well and were not phased by the occasion. This year it is hoped that they can build on the experience gained and again impress the judges.
